It is my great pleasure as the chief of English teacher association to say thank you to English Department of Suryakencana University that allow students to
convey and communicate in English through various competitions, they are debate, speech and story telling.
Through debate the students learn and practice to express their opinions in a coherent, considered and structured way, whilst also affording their fellow peers the time and respect that they deserve in voicing their opinions also. For senior high school students, welcome to English debate competition. This debate is realized as there is an MoU between English Department of Suryakancana University with English teacher Association of Cianjur Regency. The best speakers from all teams who join today's debate will be selected to represent Cianjur regency to join the provincial school debate championship in June 2019.
I am very pleased to congratulate the senior high students who join speech contest. Speech in general, allow you to develop your skills in research to understand the issue you are going to present, critical thinking, organization of the text, persuasion and communication.
The last but not least, l welcome junior high students and elementary students who involve in story telling competition. Story telling will help you to aware of your own culture and roots, it also enhaces your verbal proficiency. Storytelling encourages your creativity and imagination power.
It is not going to be easy to be winner of any competition, but it is always easy to be different individual by keep learning and improving your English so that you win and conquer your own laziness in learning foreign language.
